Dr. Mathieu Walker obtained his Bachelor of Arts and medical degrees from McGill University. He completed residencies in internal medicine and cardiology, also at McGill, after which he spent a fellowship year at the Montreal Heart Institute specializing in echocardiography. He is currently the Cardiology division director at Saint Mary's Hospital as well as the CIUSSS ODI representative for cardiology. He is an Associate Professor of Medicine at McGil University. He has been the coordinator for first-year undergraduate teaching in cardiology at McGill since 2006. Dr. Walker served as co-director of the McGill adult cardiology residency training program from 2010-15. As voted by the medical class, Dr. Walker was the 2011 recipient of the Osler award for outstanding contribution to medical education. In 2017, he was added to McGill's Faculty Honour List for Educational Excellence.
